Jenny Blizard

Jenny qualified with a First Class Honours degree in Physiotherapy from Sheffield Hallam University.

Since then she has worked in the NHS and now works in private practice.

Jenny has undertaken post-graduate training in Women’s Health and Acupuncture, as well as continued post-graduate learning with the International Maitland Teacher's Association, which aims to put sound clinical reasoning skills at the core of assessing and treating a person's problem.

Jenny is currently a Level 2a Maitland Concept practitioner.

An athlete in her spare time, she has competed for Great Britain on numerous occasions at the marathon distance, cross country as well as in triathlons.

Not surprisingly, Jenny predominantly treats like-minded athletes who gain enormously from her knowledge and experience in training and competition. Profile...

Dave Tune

Dave brings a wealth of experience to Blizard Physiotherapy, having competed at the highest level running for Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

These appearances included two World Championships.

Dave is now an accredited UK athletics coach and likes to pass his vast experience on to both his own successful group of athletes, as well as to people of all abilities looking to benefit from leading an active lifestyle. Profile...

Jonathan Frary

Jono Frary is our Swimming Analysis expert, as well as a Level 3 British Triathlon coach at Doncaster triathlon club, and an NLP practitioner.

He works hard at building a strong coach/athlete relationship, enjoys the process of the swimming analysis service, and finding opportunities to help people improve and progress.

Jono prides himself on his triathlon knowledge, and is always learning, helping and advising triathlon clubs, councils and sports authorities with event planning, management and venue creation and builds, as well as delivering regular sports lectures.

The multiple age group GB representative at World and European championships in triathlon and aquathlon has reached the pinnacle of the sport after competing in more than 100 triathlons, duathlons and aquathlons, in both the sprint and long distances.

Matthew Newton

Matthew is the UK’s only Maitland® Concept instructor, qualifying to teach the Concept two years ago.

He has many years of experience working in the NHS and the private sector, and is now available at Blizard Physiotherapy, every Tuesday evening from 5pm.

He has spent many years learning and working in clinical practice employing the highest level of manual therapy skills, since first graduating 27 years ago.

Matthew feels that the Maitland® Concept is the only concept flexible enough to change with advancing knowledge, and yet always remain focused on the patient at the centre of the whole examination and treatment process.

He was trained by several of Europe’s leading clinicians, including previous Maitland® Concept instructors Robin Blake and Kevin Banks. Profile...

Caroline Hennigan

Having qualified as a Physiotherapist from Nottingham University in 1999, Caroline has studied extensively both in the UK and Europe resulting in sound clinical reasoning (making sense of patient's problems) and refined manual therapy skills. Having spent all this time studying Caroline can now boast to having achieved a Level 3 standard in the International Maitland Teacher`s Association.

Following a career in the NHS, Caroline has worked in private practice for 10 years. Four children, 2 chickens, a dog and an allotment all keep Caroline's inner athlete well hidden!

Kate Stowers

Kate specialises in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and women’s health, areas of expertise she has been able to develop while also working for the NHS at the Nottingham University Hospitals.

She enjoys the cross-over in treatment methods with the two specialties, finding she can often help a patient with more complex problems more effectively as a result of the connected issues within both areas.

Kate has also joined Jenny Blizard in implementing research carried out linking mobility in the thoracic spine and reduced lung capacity in both athletes and non-athletes. Profile...

Liz Jackson

Liz and her team greet our valued clients day in, day out, with a smile, an organised head and an understanding of what makes the clinic tick, and ensures our growing company runs smoothly and efficiently.

A keen runner, mother, and a skilled baker, her main roles at work are: administration in reception, keeping on top of the lactate threshold tested athlete data, corresponding with other team members regarding promoting our services, and working hard to ensure our top performers in all sports are rewarded with good publicity.

She loves hearing about our clients' racing achievements, explaining "it is a really motivating environment to work in."

Her favourite racing distance is the half marathon, but she also loves running with her son, and is passionate about good nutrition.

Stella Blizard

Stella works hard to help create a warm and welcoming environment for all our clients, and was here at the very beginning when Jenny and Dave launching the business.

Alongside her daily office jobs - which include booking clients in for physiotherapy and lactate tests, book-keeping, stocktaking, invoicing and general administration, she is also famed for making all who arrive at Blizard Towers feel at ease with ‘cups of tea and a chat’.

Our stellar multi-tasker enjoy’s the jovial atmosphere in the building, and is also an essential part of our Saturday morning 5km time trials, either acting as our official photographer or timekeeper, before returning to the clinic to help prepare the now famous Banting breakfast for the hungry runners, explaining how she “enjoys the buzz!”

Stellar is a keen runner and fitness fan, and also enjoys walking, Pilates, cycling and Tai Chi.

Stacey Richards

Stacey is a running mother of two and enjoys keeping on top of Dave and Kevin's lactate threshold testing data, greeting and booking in clients and writing clients’ GP letters.

She also reminds athletes about their review dates, keeps track of Dave's personally coached clients, and maintains the monthly race results information.

"I am very much a people person, and love Saturday mornings when the shoe clinic is open and we are busier than ever, but I remain calm no matter how hectic it gets!

"I have had a couple of lactate tests, which helped me achieve a seven minute 10km PB as well as a lifetime best for the half marathon! I'd recommend lactate testing to anyone wanting to improve. If I can do it anyone can!

She prides herself on her healthy diet, and enjoys swapping recipes and nutrition tips ideas at work, explaining how "a good diet helps massively with training, so far I have lost 35lb!"

"I really enjoy my job, we have a great atmosphere at work, and if ever I need any inspiration or I lose my mojo, I'm in the perfect place to get it back! Everyone here is really inspiring and hard working."
