Our latest On Running 5km time trial was a PB and star studded affair, and our endurance athletes all recorded lifetime bests at the Brass Monkey half marathon!

Our Team Blizard athletes are a hardy bunch, with scores of you braving sub-zero conditions to brave our On Running 5k time trial on Saturday and yet more taking on the hugely popular Brass Monkey half marathon in York on Sunday, with PBs galore!

This Saturday's 5k time trial was an exciting one for all who made the trip to Bircotes at 8.30am, as we had the brand new Cloudsurfers and Cloudflyers available for all to test drive on our fast measured course!

It was also an extra special time trial as we were honoured to welcome Clowne's top class athlete and friend of the clinic, Andy Ward, who has battled injury of late but showed his pure class by beating all but one of our Blizard athletes despite mainly putting his training miles in in the pool rather than on the roads recently!

There were super fast times from everyone who took on the challenge, including a course PB from Emily Whall and strong performances from Jay Buxton, Tom Morris, our own Liz and Jono, Steve McAleavy, Disco Dave Sedgwick, Chris Pye, Daz Downie, Brenda King and Kelly Raven to name but a few!

We had loads of brilliant feedback about how comfortable, light and fast the On shoes were, and although we're sure they gave you all the extra edge in your 5k's, you know what we always say - lactate training is definitely paying off for loads of you!

Next up were the endurance runners on Sunday, who travelled to York to tackle the famously hilly but oddly quick Brass Monkey half marathon, with PBs from every one of our Team Blizard stars!

First across the line was local lad Martin James, who flew the flag for Doncaster when he finished in a superb 81:14 life time best - ace running Martin!

Never far behind were Wallsend's Gavin Lee and Totley's Phil Kelly, who smashed their half marathon bests with 84:17 and 84:25, finishing just seconds apart!

Gavin was rightly very pleased with his performance, having only recently recovered from an illness which significantly curtailed his training in the build up to the race.

Perhaps the result of the day, though, came from Gainsborough & Morton's Hanna Bennett, who knocked a huge chunk off her previous fastest half marathon time to clock a fantastic 1:43.54 on the challenging course!

Keep it up you wonderful lot!

Our elite Team Blizard stars, Tom Morris and Mike Chadwick, have both been doing their utmost to maintain their hard earned fitness following illness and injury, and have written blogs on how they've managed it without damaging their health, keeping within their individual heart rate zones being the key message to learn!
