Jono helps promising athlete Andrew Kitchen fulfil his potential with a Swim Analysis session

Article text
Our resident GB AG Triathlete and swimming coach extraordinaire, Jono Frary, has been seeing some fantastic results from an increasing number of his swim analysis athletes.

The latest success story comes from Sheffield Triathlon Club's Andrew Kitchen, who has come on in leaps and bounds since his swim session with Jono in March.

Here we highlight some of the massive improvements he made in just two months, including a very strong performance at the Belvoir Middle Distance Triathlon.

The V40-44 category triathlete completed the gruelling 1.9km swim in 38:26, but that time includes a 450m run from the water to the first transition area, and he actually stopped his watch coming out of the lake at an impressive 35 minutes!

This performance has come off the back of a lot of specific endurance swim training, overseen by Jono, after he had his swimming analysis session.

In just over two months he reduced his 100m swim time from 2:24 to 2:06 minutes, and is holding a significantly faster pace for longer!

Jono said his success is down to the fact that Andrew stuck to the plan in his drive to be as fit as possible.

The Belvoir Triathlon was a great indicator of how far he has come in such a short amount of time by training smartly and efficiently, and this was proven by the fact that he emerged from the water full of energy for the bike section of the race!

Most importantly, Andrew is really enjoying his swimming as he sees he's making big steps forwards - well done Andrew, keep up the good work!
