Me

My name is Col Bishop. I served in the Australian Army for 28 years as an Infantryman (retiring as a Warrant Officer Class Two) with Battalions of the Royal Australian Regiment and I specialised in Parachute Operations and qualified as a Parachute Jump Instructor (#254). I had the opportunity to travel to some exotic parts of the globe with my work, when I left I put away my Rifle and took up the Camera and started shooting in a more "user friendly" manner.

I live just north of Brisbane in the Moreton Bay Region of Queensland (Australia) with my Great Dane x Mastiff.

My other interests include, reading, Military History, cooking, gardening, bonsai, woodwork and collecting vintage cameras.

I currently use a Nikon D850 with a variety of lenses, filters and misc equipment. The D850 is a 45MP camera and I prefer to shoot on RAW for optimum images and I use filters to add colour to a shot.

I am available to advise tips, hints and answer questions to those upcoming photographers for free - photography is an art that should be shared without stealing the content of someone's wallet - for they are the next generation of our World Class photographers.

I hope in the future to run workshops; however, there will be some cost involved. If you are interested in workshops please contact me and I will respond ASAP.
