Thanks so much for taking a look at my artwork.

I can't remember a time when I didn't have a pencil and sketchbook in my possession. I have always loved to draw, sketch, colour and paint. From an art club at school at 7 years old, to GCSE and A-level art, followed by a BTEC Art Foundation, I have always loved to create. Envisaging the end result, I will then put in the hard-work, skill, patience and love to make it happen.
I have been through the gamut of tools and materials over the years. Early on I mainly used acrylics, and found his a great way to 'play' with paint, easily changing the form, with unlimited opportunities to paint over sections or mistakes! I really enjoyed the bright colours and opaque coverage During my late teens I studied poster art from World War 2, especially featuring women during the war. I loved recreating these posters for my final projects and particularly liked the topography and varying styles - I had an amazing opportunity to explore the archives at the Imperial War Museum. My Art Foundation gave me the freedom and fearlessness to try a variety of techniques and materials. I would often create pieces of work on board using textiles and oil paint together to create rich textured paintings.

Southwold Beach Huts

For several years I worked as a Tactile Illustrator for the Royal National Institute for the Blind (RNIB). I was fortunate to be involved in work for Center Parcs, alongside exhibitions at The British Museum and The Victoria & Albert Museum. It was wonderful to be involved in making art accessible for all.

In my mid-twenties I discovered water colours. For me, watercolours are so flexible, and can be used in so many ways, but my biggest joy in using them is the ease with which they bring the painting to life! I love the way you can paint wide pale washes, but then the precise detail that can recreate the look and light in a subjects' eye.

In 2012 I went to a Prophetic Art conference at a much loved retreat centre, Ffald-y-Brenin on the Welsh Coast. This had a profound affect on my painting in several ways. We spent time creating paintings in short bursts with different outcomes. I used watercolour paint in a way I never had before. Sometimes applying it straight from the tube to the paper, I would quickly create form and texture, light and dark. I had never prayed over a piece of paper before, ore really understood the spiritual nature of painting. For me, to be inspired by God to paint a picture for a person or situation, and to be able to paint it for them is an immense privilege. I have had several opportunities now to paint at events in this way.

I hope you enjoy the paintings. You can also order prints, cards and other merchandise. Make sure you check out my Facebook page and follow me on Twitter so you can keep up with all my news and updates.
