La Rambla
La Rambla is a tree lined pedestrian street, with two one-way roads for traffic either side. There are many souvenir stalls all along it, with bars and restaurants in the surrounding buildings which have seating areas in the centre of La Rambla. About half way along it is Barcelona’s most famous market “Mercat de la Boqueria”, which is massive and well worth investigating. It has several restaurants and bars backing onto La Rambla.
Sadly, it is the site on a horrific terrorist attack in 2017, where a van was driven into pedestrians killing 13 people and injuring at least 130 others.
