Artecosse showcases my creative output which includes acrylic paintings and novel graphical images. The paintings are mainly acrylic spray paint on canvas. This provides the advantage of fast and uniform coverage of the painting surface, though the edge of paint boundaries then becomes a challenge to manage and control. A basic approach with the acrylic pieces is to create the image outlines on paper which initially covers the canvas. The acrylic paint is solvent based rather than being water based and this leads to a relatively robust paint surface. In this technique paints are generally used ‘straight from the can’ rather than mixed as combinations. The Spiral Collection is as it were a technique to reveal hidden patterns within text - and is like a 'portal' to an essentially undiscovered country. The Stratford 2012 Collection uses colour to reveal patterns within the epic texts of Shakespeare and of other authors.
